I have been wanting to post my BriForum presentations for a while but I just hadn't gotten around to it. This presentation was given at BriForum 2006 in Washington, DC. It details (a bit painstakingly) the licensing process with Windows Terminal Server 2000 and 2003. I admit I put far more information in this presentation than I was capable of fitting into 90 minutes, but it was really well received. There certainly is a lot to licensing!
One quick note on this presentation - I have updated the flowchart on slide 42 in my article on CAL Allocation on the MSTerminalServices.org site, but I was unable to fit it into the slide. I will be posting the flowcharts separately on this site in the coming weeks, so stay tuned, or check out the article for a more detailed and accurate view. You can also view the presentation delivery from BriForum 2006 here. Scroll down and locate the "Terminal Services Licensing" presentation and click the icon to the left of it. Note: I didn't link directly to the .MOV file on the BriForum site out of respect of Brian's bandwidth. If you want to view the video, please visit the BriForum site at www.briforum.com. Interesting side story on this one... About 10 minutes before I was due to go on for my presentation, a fire alarm went off in the building and we all had to evacuate. Needless to say, I was (jokingly) accused by my peers or pulling the alarm to give myself more time to prep. If you haven't been to BriForum yet and you work with Terminal Server/Citrix and Virtualization technologies, there's nothing like it. The next one is coming up in a few months in Chicago (June 16-18, 2008) at Navy Pier. You can check out the details and register at the BriForum site . |
